Stay in Hoi An
Many visitors base in Hoi An and day trip to Da Nang attractions.
Both are great! Da Nang offers beaches, modern city vibes, and is better for Ba Na Hills. Hoi An has more charm, better food scene, and ancient town atmosphere. Many visitors split time between both (30 min apart).
Yes, especially for the Golden Bridge and cable car ride. It's touristy but the mountain scenery and cool temperatures are refreshing. Book tickets online to skip queues. Allow a full day.
Grab is widely available and affordable. Rent a motorbike for independence (easy traffic by Vietnam standards). Taxis are also reasonable. Many attractions are spread out so transport planning helps.
Excellent for families. Ba Na Hills is a full day of theme park fun, the beaches are safe for swimming, and the Dragon Bridge breathing fire is a highlight for kids. Many beachfront resorts offer kids' clubs and family rooms. It's also a great base for day trips to Hoi An.
